I am extremely disappointed with both the product and the customer service from Dec-Tec.

The product is very expensive, yet it discoloured far sooner than it should have. When I contacted the Calgary representatives, they assured me they would stand behind their product and take care of the issue. I provided everything they requested, including the original purchase paperwork, measurements, and all the required information.

They even sent me a binder of replacement products to choose from. After I selected a colour, I was told, “Good choice,” and that they had everything they needed to move forward.

After that, they completely ghosted me.

I sent emails, left phone messages, and even spoke with their receptionist several times, but no one ever returned my calls or responded to my emails. I wasn’t even asking for a guarantee—I simply wanted the professional courtesy of being told if they had changed their minds or why they were no longer willing to help.

Ignoring a customer after making promises is unacceptable. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend either this product or this company. If you’re considering a significant investment in decking, I would strongly encourage you to look at other options.
