To start off, this is not a review about the quality of Belmar's work. It's about the frustrating experience I had with them regarding warranty work. I was told that ownership had changed since my shingles were installed, so I can't hold that against Belmar. What I can be frustrated about is their lack of communication.

My shingles were replaced by Belmar 7 years ago. I was informed that, 2 years after that, the company was sold to someone else, but the name was maintained, and their website claims 40 years of excellence. My roof developed a leak a couple of months ago, and I reached out to a number of companies, including Belmar, for advice and repairs. Belmar responded with a promise that someone would be in touch shortly. A couple days later, not having heard anything, I called back and repeated my need for someone to come fix my roof, as a rainstorm was expected that night. Later that afternoon, someone came out, checked my roof, took pictures, and let me know that there was a gap between shingles which would need to be fixed, the flashing would need to be replaced, and that the wood would need to be replaced if it was damaged. He did a temporary fix on my roof, which was much appreciated. It was a good experience.

When I reached out again to schedule a time when they could come and do a permanent repair, I had to call and leave messages 4 or 5 times over the course of two weeks. No one answered any of these calls, and - although the answering service promises a quick response - no one called me back.

Then, one afternoon, my wife texts me saying someone from Belmar was there fixing our roof. The only reason she knew someone was up there was because our dog started barking. There was no car in the driveway, and no one knocked on the door. When she went outside to see who it was, they told her they had spoken with me about the work to be done, which was a lie. They were gone by the time I got home.

I called three times over the following week and a half to discuss what had happened and the work that had been done. I was frustrated that they seemingly avoided communication and refused to talk to me. I still don't know the condition of the wood in my roof, because the shingles were replaced without any consultation or discussion. It's now several weeks since the experience, and I still haven't heard from them.

My frustration and this review could have been avoided if someone had simply called me back when I reached out to schedule the work instead of avoiding my calls and coming when it appeared like no one was at the house. It was unprofessional, and I expect better. My last message shared this opinion.

Stay far away. I have a leak around my vent on the roof they completely did. The ceiling in my bathroom is ruined. I was told the company was bought by new owners in 2021 so they have zero paperwork from 2021 or earlier. I'm pretty sure they had computers in 2021. Anyway..they said it will be a paid service call with a minimum charge of $600! They requested a copy of my paid invoice which I sent. No response. They certainly do not stand behind their work and customer service is horrible.

Dave gave us a quote for our gutter/eavestroughs and it was fair quote. We got him also to do our gutter. This was a different crew that did our gutter, they did an awesome job. My home looks new from the top! Thank you!

I was looking for a quote for our roof and Belmar sent Dave to us to look at my roof and give us a quote. It was a fair quote. Howard and crew did an amazing job with our roof. They also fixed our bathroom vent. We love our charcoal colour roof! Thank you!

I dealt with Bob by phone , recommended by my church for an urgent roof problem with snow and ice dam.
Very pleasant and trustworthy. He sent out a crew of Howard and David today.
Nice , hard working guys went above and beyond to help me out. Howard helped point out the source of the problems I'm dealing with.
Very pleased with Belmar.
